Artwork and file requirements
Most order delays come down to artwork rather than printing, so it is worth getting the file right first time.
What file should I send?
A PNG at 300 DPI with a transparent background is ideal. Transparency matters because anything that is not transparent will print — a white box around a logo will appear as a white box on the garment.
Vector files such as AI, EPS and SVG also work well and scale to any print size without losing sharpness.
How big should the file be?
Supply artwork at roughly the size it will be printed, at 300 DPI. A design printed 25cm wide should be around 3000 pixels wide.
A small image scaled up will print soft or pixelated. DTF reproduces exactly what it is given, including the flaws — it cannot add detail that is not in the file.
I do not have artwork. What now?
We do not offer a custom design service, but the free ChatGPT design guide has copy-paste prompts that produce print-ready graphics, including instructions for getting a transparent background straight out of the tool.
For anything brand-critical, a designer is still worth paying for. The guide is aimed at teams who need something clean and simple without a design budget.
Can you print white ink?
Yes. DTF lays down a white underbase automatically where it is needed, which is how light-coloured artwork stays opaque on dark garments.
This is a genuine advantage over some other methods, where light-on-dark prints look washed out or require expensive extra passes.
Ordering, turnaround and delivery
Is there really no minimum?
Yes. One shirt is a valid order, and it is priced the same per unit as any other order below the first discount tier.
This is a direct consequence of printing DTF rather than screen — there is no setup cost to spread across a minimum quantity.
How fast can I get an order?
Standard turnaround is five business days before dispatch. Rush turnaround reduces that to three business days for a 40% surcharge on the print cost.
Delivery time is on top of production, and varies by destination — one business day to most east-coast capitals, three to four days to Darwin. The turnaround calculator gives an exact date once you enter a postcode.
Can I collect instead of paying for delivery?
Yes, if you can get to Nerang on the Gold Coast. Pickup is free from Unit 2 / 12-20 Lawrence Drive, Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 4:30pm.
Choose the pickup option in the quote builder and no shipping cost is applied.
Can I print on my own garments?
We do not print on customer-supplied blanks. Handling garments we did not source introduces risk we cannot control — unknown fabric composition, unknown finishes, and no replacement if something goes wrong mid-run.
The alternative is our DTF transfers: we print the design onto film and ship it to you, and you press it onto whatever you like with a heat press.
